Dr. Dana Blu Cohen

Taking the step to come to therapy takes courage. It is my mission to provide a safe, compassionate and nonjudgmental space based on mutuality where we can work collaboratively. I aim to use my knowledge and training as tools to empower you and foster healing and growth. In my work as a therapist rather than offering quick solutions I will help you find your inner wisdom and intuition and provide the skills and space to implement meaningful, long-term change to transform your life. The road to self-discovery is challenging and best not traveled alone. Together we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in new ways, aiming to promote a sense of inner freedom.

Clinical Specialties

I have expertise treating various conditions including:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Chronic pain and illness
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Drug and alcohol issues
  • Professional burnout and life transitions.

While the initial focus is on relief of your symptoms, the ultimate goal of therapy is finding a deeper understanding of yourself, and your life purpose and meaning.

 Education and Training

I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have over five years of clinical experience and several years of research experience working on clinical trials for treatment-resistant PTSD at the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies.

I am currently registered as a Psychological Assistant (PSB94022096) in San Francisco. Among other requirements for licensure, psychologists must have at least 1500 hours of supervised experience after they receive their doctorate. I am gaining my experience under Dr. Brac Selph’s supervision. This presents an opportunity for clients to receive high quality services at a significant discount. Please contact me to discuss my fees further.
