My approach to therapy reflects my belief that relationships are primary to our experience, deeply impacting our sense of self, our beliefs about the world, and our capacity to manage our feelings. Early on, we develop unconscious patterns of relating that affect our ability to find love, be successful in work, and live creatively. Therapy provides an opportunity to become conscious of these patterns and make more active choices about one’s life. In the context of a caring, attuned relationship, I help my clients increase their ability to tolerate difficult emotions, decrease destructive behaviors, reduce stress, improve their relationships, and make decisions with greater freedom and flexibility.

In my work, I draw on the rich tradition of psychoanalytic theory and contemporary neuroscientific research. My therapeutic style is also informed by my personal experiences as a dancer, a mother, and a professional. I welcome people from all backgrounds to my practice and always seek to explore how culture shapes our experience as part of the therapeutic endeavor. My treatments are tailored to the unique needs of each individual, and are designed to enhance one’s natural tendency toward healing and growth. Clients have described my style as authentic, supportive, and collaborative.

 Education and Training

I earned a BA in history and dance from the University of California, Berkeley and a masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute. I completed my predoctoral training at Oakes Children’s Center in San Francisco and have five years of experience providing therapeutic and assessment services to culturally diverse children and adults. Additionally, I am pursuing advanced training at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis as a student in the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am currently completing my requirements for licensure as a psychological assistant working under the supervision of Dr. Brac Selph (PSY22115).

Fees and Services

I provide individual psychotherapy to teens and adults. My fee is $175 per session. Sessions are 45-50 minutes in length. I accept cash, check, and credit card and payment is due at the time of service. I do not currently accept health insurance, but can provide an itemized receipt for services monthly. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours noticed are billed at the full rate.
